For language schools
Language school CRM — the home turf we started on
Mimiao is the language school CRM we started with: scheduling, payments, debts, teacher payroll and a parent portal — plus spaced-repetition vocabulary, CEFR levels and conversation clubs that no generic CRM understands.
A language school lives in lessons: some students come twice a week, some in pairs, some drop into a conversation club with a different crowd every time. Payment comes in lesson packages, teacher pay follows delivered lessons, and levels climb their own ladder from A1 to C1. Generic CRMs don't get any of that: they have “deals” and “contacts”, but no lesson balance, no journal, no CEFR. So Excel keeps living next to the CRM — and your evenings go to reconciling the two.
The lesson is the unit of account, not a row in a sheet
Everything in Mimiao revolves around the lesson: a delivered class charges the student's balance, accrues the teacher's pay and updates the journal — all at once, with no manual reconciliation. Packages and subscriptions, debts in plain sight, automatic payment reminders — a language school's finances work the way the school actually lives.
- Every student's lesson balance updates itself
- Teacher pay accrues from delivered lessons, at their rate
- An immutable financial ledger: no backdated edits, ever
Spaced-repetition vocabulary — practice between lessons
Students drill vocabulary in their own trainer: the algorithm shows each word right before it's about to be forgotten, audio pronounces it, and streaks and coins turn reviewing into a habit. For the school it's a daily reason to open the app — and far less “I didn't touch it all week”.
- The SRS algorithm builds today's review queue itself
- Audio pronunciation — English, German, Spanish and more
- Coins and streaks for practice — motivation without nagging
How do you run several languages and levels in one school?
Languages live in the school's own catalog: the lead card and student profile capture the language and level, each language's groups run as separate series in one shared calendar, and teachers can carry different rates per language and format — the system picks the right one for the lesson date. Moving up a level keeps the student's history, balance and rewards, so a school teaching English, German and Polish sees each track separately and all of them together.
- Language and level are lead-card fields, not a note in a chat
- Separate rates per language and format — picked automatically
- Level transitions keep history and balance intact
Parents see progress — and pay in two taps
The parent portal shows the child's schedule, attendance, homework, lesson balance and invoices with a Pay button. Alerts about absences and new invoices arrive on their own, so the “how much do we owe?” calls get noticeably rarer — and trust in the school grows.
- “Is everything okay?” — answered on one screen
- Card payment via mono, LiqPay or WayForPay
- Auto-alerts about absences and invoices
Frequently asked questions
How is Mimiao different from a generic CRM for a language school?
A generic CRM sees “contacts” and “deals”, while a language school lives in lessons: lesson packages, each student's balance, an attendance journal, teacher pay from delivered lessons, CEFR levels and conversation clubs. Mimiao has all of it built in — plus spaced-repetition vocabulary, gamification and a parent portal. So you don't need Excel running alongside: lesson taught → balance charged → payroll accrued → parents informed.
We teach several languages. Is that supported?
Yes. The lead card and student profile capture the language and level, groups run as separate series, and teachers can have different rates per language and format — the system picks the right one for the lesson date. Analytics can slice the picture by direction through products and groups, so a school teaching English, German and Polish sees each track separately and all of them together.
What about international exam prep?
Exam cohorts are ordinary groups in the system: the same lesson series, journal, homework with deadlines and balances. CEFR levels help assemble the streams, and the at-risk zone flags a student who starts missing classes or dropping homework — while there's still time to fix things before the exam. There are no separate paid exam modules. And the deeper level workflow — CEFR captured from the first inquiry, level groups, transitions that keep history — lives on the dedicated CEFR feature page.
What if we grow beyond languages — add maths or exam prep?
Mimiao supports schools of any subject, so growth never hits a wall: scheduling, finances, payroll and the parent portal are the same for every direction. New disciplines are added as products and groups, and subject schools get the academic profile with a grade journal, curriculum topics and mock tests — we configure it together with you. The plan doesn't change either: subjects aren't limited, only the pool of teachers and active students is.
