Mimiao Now Fits Every School: Math, Science and Test Prep — Not Just Languages

We started Mimiao as a CRM for language schools — and said so honestly on every page. But over the past months, math schools, national-exam prep courses, and centers teaching physics and coding kept arriving with the same question: “would it work for us?”. Their scheduling, payments, payroll and parents hurt exactly the way they do in language schools. The specialised tools they need, though, are different.

The answer is now official: yes, it works. Mimiao supports schools of any subject — not “technically”, but with its own toolset for subject teaching.

What exactly is new?

Mimiao now has two school profiles, configured with you during onboarding:

Language school — everything that has been our depth from day one: the spaced-repetition vocabulary trainer with audio, CEFR levels from inquiry to graduation, conversation clubs, per-skill language progress.

Subject school — the new academic profile:

• A grade journal. Pick a group and a period — see attendance and every graded assessment side by side. Assessments split into categories (quizzes, tests, homework), grading periods are up to the school, and the scale can be anything — even a separate one for a specific group.
• Curriculum topics. Every assessment links to a topic, so you see not “8 out of 12” but “fractions done, equations slipping”. Per-topic mastery is the honest answer to a parent’s “how are things going?”.
• Diagnostics and mock tests. A question builder with scoring and automatic grading. Students take quizzes and mock exams in their own cabinet, while the school sees attempts and dynamics.
• A public test as a lead channel. A diagnostic can get an open link — on Instagram, the website, in a parent chat. A person takes the test, leaves a contact — and appears in the lead pipeline together with their result.

Meanwhile the entire foundation — scheduling and the journal, finances with an immutable ledger, teacher payroll, gamification, automations and the parent portal — is shared by everyone and works for any subject from day one.

Does this mean language schools are no longer the priority?

No — quite the opposite. Language schools were and remain our home turf: the vocabulary trainer, CEFR, conversation clubs and all the depth accumulated since day one aren’t going anywhere and keep evolving. We’ve even given language schools a dedicated page — with everything we do specifically for them.

It’s just that now, when your English school decides to add math for exam prep (and we see more and more of those stories), it won’t have to shop for a second system. One schedule, one till, one student base.

How it works — and why we didn’t build “one profile for everyone”

We deliberately didn’t blend everything into one pile. A math school doesn’t need a vocabulary trainer in its menu, and a language school doesn’t need a topic-based grade journal it will never fill. The school profile determines which specialised tools are on, and switching deletes nothing: if a school ever changes its profile, the data simply hides and fully returns if it switches back.

The profile is configured together with us during onboarding — one step in the conversation, after which the system immediately speaks your school’s language: subject fields for subject schools, language-and-level for language schools.
